Katsukawa Shuncho (birth and death unknown) is an ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period.
A master of Katsukawa Shunsho. His real surname is unknown, and his first name is Yoshizaemon. Kachigawa is named as the painting surname, and it is called Yushiba-do, Shien, Higashi-Shien, Nakabayashi-sha, and Yoshiza-do. He played an active part from Yasunaga to Kansei. Although he was a member of the actor's painting, Shunsho, he drew a graceful beauty painting mainly by Torii Kiyonaga's relaxed dislike of red, and left a masterpiece in the Hashira-e and Triptych. While depicting famous beautiful women in the city such as Takashimaya Ohisa, "Asukayama Hanami" (Ukiyo-e Ota Memorial Museum of Art) and "Tanomichi" during the Tenmei (1781-1789) period are representative works of the three-piece group image. From the Tenmei era to the Kansei era, he left behind relaxing beauty paintings such as "Yuyama" and "Yutachi Ameyado". In the latter half of the Tenmei era, he drew many gorgeous bijin-ga that could be mistaken for Kiyonaga, and divided his popularity with Kiyonaga. There are also excellent works in Hashira-e, and in the Gyozui map, you can see a mellow scent with a nude depiction instead of "Abuna-e". He seemed to have a literary talent, and later abandoned his painting business and became a master of Shunman Kubo.
