Utagawa Yoshitsuya (Utagawa Yoshitsuya, Bunsei 5th year leap January 1st (February 22, 1822) --Keio 2nd June 22nd (August 2, 1866)) is an ukiyo-e artist at the end of the Edo period. .. Hidden among Kuniyoshi's younger brothers, such as Yoshitoshi Tsukioka and Yoshiiku Ochiai, he is the painter who best inherited Kuniyoshi's talent for samurai painting, although his name is hardly known.

His surname is Kabane and his first name is Mankichi. Refers to Utagawa. Ichieisai, later called Ichieisai. There is also an opinion that it should be called Ichieisai Yoshitsuya because there is no seal with the Utagawa surname "Utagawa Yoshitsuya" so far.

Born as a child of Kagoya "Junoji" in 2-chome, Nihonbashihoncho. Kogo Seisaburo's younger brother. Introduced to Kuniyoshi at the age of 15, and at the age of 17, he drew a figure of Kumon Ryu and Lu Zhishen's struggle in the snow on the noren of Kami-yui. It is said that he gave the issue of "Kuniyoshi". It is said that he made his debut at the end of the Tenpo year, and the first work that has been confirmed at present was an illustration of "Hana Koyo Nishiki Date Umbrella" by Bizugaki Smile. He also draws spectacle paintings, but at a young age he showed his talent in samurai painting and gained popularity. Kuniteru Utagawa of the same gate was a good rival, competing in the sketch of the tattoo, and was described alongside Jiraiya for Yoshitsuya and "Tadanobu Kitsune" for Kuniteru.
