Utagawa Yoshikatsu

Yoshikatsu Utagawa (Yoshikatsu Utagawa, whose birth and death years are unknown) is an ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period.

A student of Kuniyoshi Utagawa. His real name is Ishiwatari and his first name is Shosuke or Yusuke. People from Edo. The surnames of Utagawa are called Ichishusai and Ichiseisai. He used to be a soy sauce purveyor to the shogunate, but later closed it and started Kuniyoshi. The drawing period was from Koka to Ansei, and the work left behind the illustrations and nishiki-e of the gōkan. According to the "List of Illustrated Books for Folklore" (edited by Tendo Urushiyama), he drew an illustration of the Nagauta book of the work "Yae Kuju Hanagatae" (performed in Tenpo 12 <1841>). He also improved Joruri and called him Kiyomoto Millennium Tayu. My son has Yoshimuro Utagawa.
