Utagawa Sadahide

Sadahide Utagawa (Sadahide Utagawa, 4th year of culture <1807> -12th year of Meiji <1879>?) Is an ukiyo-e artist from the late Edo period to the Meiji period. Known for drawing Yokohama-e, bird's-eye views, and illustrations of gōkan. The names of the plays include Okaisha Kinryu, Tanchoan Tsurumaru, and Matsutei Juzan.

The first student of Kunisada Utagawa. His real name is Kenjiro Hashimoto. The name is also. The first is Gountei, and later it is called Tamran, Tamransai, Tamran Master, Ichigyokusai, Tamao, etc. The first is Sadahide Utagawa, and later Sadahide Hashimoto. Born in Fusa, Shimousa (currently Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture). I lived in front of Kameido Tenjin, Kameido Village. It is said that he moved to Yokohama from the end of Ansei to Bunkyu, and lived in front of Fukagawa Mikura around the time of Keio Genji.

Introduced to Kunisada, when he was 14 years old, the cover of "Ebisu to Daikoku", the final copy of "Hikoyama Reikenki" (written by Tosatoyama) published in 1826 (the illustration inside is Sada Utagawa). However, there is also a theory that it is a humorous book "Worship at Zenkoji Temple" (two volumes) by Tori Okayama, a disciple of Bakin Takizawa in 1821. After that, he worked on illustrations for printed books such as Jippensha Ikku's "Kokumansaku Beans" in the 10th year of Bunsei and "Hanagun Kikusui no Maki" by Tokumasu Goyanagi in 1829. On the other hand, in the 11th year of Bunsei (1828), the names of 11 Kunisada's subordinates are engraved on the back of the monument of "The first Toyokuni professor's writing brush" built by Kunisada in the precincts of Yanagishima Myoumido, but only Sadahide. It is the fourth largest at the age of 22.
