Utagawa Kuniyasu

Kuniyasu Utagawa (Kuniyasu Utagawa, 6th year of Kansei <1794> --6th July, 3rd year of Tenpo <1st August 1832>) is an ukiyo-e artist in the late Edo period.

The first student of Toyokuni Utagawa. Common names are Yasujiro (one theory is Yasugoro) and Ichihosai. He lived in Aioi-cho, Honjo, and later in Fukagawa Ogibashi. The drawing period is from culture to the year of death, and it is said that he entered Toyokuni around this time because he signed the Yakusha-e of the 5th year of culture (1808) as "Toyogokumonjin Anga". It is said that he lived with him. In addition to Yakusha-e, he draws beauty paintings, uki-e paintings, illustrations of gōkan, uchiwa-e paintings, and handwriting paintings. At one point, the name of the painting was Yasunobu Nishikawa, but later he returned to his former name, Kuniyasu. Year 39. According to Toyokuni-sensei's monument, which was built in 1828, there are Utagawa Yasunobu, Utagawa Yasushige, Utagawa Yasukiyo, Utagawa Yasushige, Utagawa Yasutsune, Utagawa Yasuharu, and Utagawa Yasuhide. Kuniyasu, Utagawa Kunimaru, and Utagawa Kuninao are said to be the three crows under Toyokuni, and Kuniyasu was the leading figure.
