Taguchi Beisaku

Taguchi Beisaku (Taguchi Beisaku, April 6, 1864 (May 11, 1864)-January 18, 1903) is a printmaker and ukiyo-e artist from the Meiji era.

A student of Kiyochika Kobayashi. His surname is Taguchi and his first name is rice. It is called Sakuragawa. Born on April 6, 1864, in Noda Village, Tsuga District (currently Ashikaga City), Shimotsuke Province (currently Tochigi Prefecture). He moved to Tokyo in 1873, first studied under Nakamura Yayama, and later began his career with Kiyochika Kobayashi around 1881. His father ran a rice shop in Shibanishi Kubo. In 1891, when Kiyochika became a professor at the Tokyo Painting School, which was established in Akasaka Hinata-cho, and provided a painting model, Yonezaku himself served as an assistant professor along with Inoue Koyama. It moved to Shiba Sakuragawa-cho in 1895. In 1896, he drew Japan's first serialized manga called "Enoshima Kamakura Long and Short Trip" in "Marumaru Chinbun". He also draws illustrations for the magazine "Small People".
