Katsukawa Shunzan

Katsukawa Shunzan (Katsukawa Shunzan, year of birth unknown-April 7, 1841 ) is an ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period.

It is said that he was a master of Katsukawa Shunsho, but in reality he was taught painting by Katsukawa Shunhide, who is under the control of Shunsho. His real surname is Ozeki and his common name is Fumiyoshi. In honor of Kachigawa, he left Nishiki-e such as Bijin-ga from Tenmei to Kansei. Unlike the style of Shunsho, the tall beauty paintings drawn by Haruyama are strongly influenced by Torii Kiyonaga. For a while, he became a master of Yoshinobu Jukotei and called him Masayu Izumi, but later returned to the name of Haruyama.
