kajita hanko

Hanko Kajita (Hanko Kajita, June 25, 1870 -April 23, 1917) was a Japanese painter from the Meiji era to the Taisho era. His real name is Teijiro. First called Eisu. The second wife is Usurai Kitada, a writer under the control of Koyo Ozaki.

Born on June 25, 1870 (July 23, 1870) in Okachimachi, Shitaya, Tokyo, as the eldest son of the engraver Masaharu Kajita. The house was a falconer of the shogunate for generations, but his father was in the business of engraving. His younger brother took over the family business, and when he graduated from Shimotani Hanko Kajita High School in 1890, he drew pictures on exports of fans, fans, and handkerchiefs from early morning to late night to help his difficult family budget. It is said that he carried it to a wholesaler. At the age of 13 in 1883, he studied painting about Nabeta Gyokuei, a disciple of Toyohara Chikano, an ukiyo-e artist. The following year, he stopped his painting training due to an eye disease and tried to get up with a koto or a yueqin, but after about a year the illness healed and he returned to painting.
