Asayama Ashikuni

Ashikuni Asayama (Ashikuni Asayama, year of birth unknown-September 5, 1820 ) is an ukiyo-e artist from Osaka during the Edo period.

A student of Suga Ranrinsai. His surname is Asayama, commonly known as Chuzaburo Nunoya. Also known as Ashikuni, it is called Seiyosai, Kyogakudo, and Raneisai. A person from Osaka lives in Andojicho 5-chome. Born in the first year of Yasunaga. The drawing period was from Kyowa to his death, and he drew many illustrations of actors, readers, and roots. Since the 13th year of Bunka (1816), he has also drawn large-format actor pictures, and is said to have been good at drawing signboards for plays. I also leave a hand-drawn drawing. The graveyard is Yukoji Temple (Enjoin) in Shitaderamachi, Tennoji-ku, Osaka, and the name is Shajunsei. Gigado Ashiyuki, Ashimaru, Ashisato, Ashitomo, Ashifune, Ashihiro, Ashifune, Ashikiyo, Hamamatsu Utakuni, Ashikawa Hikokuni, etc. are among the students, and it is said that Akatsuki Kanenari was also a student. Ryukosai Nyokei, Matsuyoshisai Hanbei and others formed a group of actor paintings, and among the students, Gigado Ashiyuki and Ashimaru inherited the Ashikoku school.
