Kabukido Enkyo

Kabukido Enkyo, Kan'en 2nd year <1749> --Kyowa 3rd September 20th <1803 November 4th>) is an ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period. Also written as "Kabuki-do".

In a paper published in the 17th issue of "Ukiyo-e no Kenkyu" in 1926, Naonari Ochiai proved that the second Kabuki Kyogen author, Shigesuke Nakamura, was a Kabukidō Enkyaku.

In the same paper, Ochiai listed several Kyoka books and introduced that the haiku names of the second generation Nakamura Shigesuke include "Kabuki" and "Kabukido". It is believed to be the real name of Kabuki Mirror. " (However, there is no record that Shigesuke Nakamura called himself "Glossy Mirror" or drew an ukiyo-e.)

According to this interpretation, Kabukidō Enkyo = the second generation Shigesuke Nakamura was born in Kan'en 2 (1749) and died on September 20, 1803 at the age of 55. Shigesuke Nakamura was on the stage as an actor until around 1794 (Kansei 6), and since his name cannot be seen in the actor's ranking after that, Kansei 7 (1795) to 8 in the drawing age of Kabukidō Enkyaku. It coincides with the time of the year (1796).
