Isoda Koryusai

Koryusai Isoda (Kyoho 20th year <1735> --Kansei 2nd year <1790>?) Is an ukiyo-e artist in the middle of the Edo period. He was active in the Tenmei period (1772-89) from Anei after the death of Harunobu Suzuki, and was particularly good at Hashira-e painting.

The real surname Fujiwara. His surname is Isoda and his first name is Masakatsu. Popular name Shobei. It was called Isoda Koryusai. Ronin of the Hatamoto Tsuchiya family in Kanda Ogawamachi. The Tsuchiya family in Ogawa Town is the lord of Tsuchiura, and it is presumed that the name "Koryu" was chosen after Kasumigaura, the lord of the former lord. Lives in Ryogokuohashi Hirokoji Yakukenbori.
